[amakurunamateka.com] FW: {UAH} Ocen, Kipenji//We are no longer a colony, government tells EU envoys

See well dear Ugandans! Africans are right. Westerner powers are not serious, credible with their principles/saying.  Africans have no choice but behave like that child who abuses after remarking his parents are too soft or blind!

A short example
No westerner leader can spend 20 years in office, unless  king or queen. These westerners agree with Africans for the same principle. They send experts to see how governments are doing, send monitoring teams for African election and pour money in. And, when Africans start changing their fundamental laws or use various tactics to stay for life in office, the same westerners are still there to support and pour money where needed.
So what do you want greedy Africans to do in such circumstances?

Edward Pojim,

Our friend Ofwono Opondo misleads. Uganda was not a British  colony so it is wrong for him to say, " We are no longer a colony." You are right, the envoys as development partners are following up on what been discussed and agreed for implementation to warrant continued support from the international community. The NRM government promised to implement reforms, may be to hoodwink the international community but used tactics of "delay, wait until last minute" then claim that there is little time left so we cannot implement all those electoral reforms. Unfortunately this time, nobody is prepared to buy those "genuine" claims anymore.
What many observers and campaigners seem to be saying is, "implement the electoral reforms, or hold no elections!"

Uganda was and has not been a colony before, therefore Ofwono's utterances are uncalled for.

"we are no longer a colony"? MY FOOT!! Our economy is directly fed by these goons and even
when we spotted some oil we summoned them to loot it. Banana republic indeed. We are not yet free guys (It is not yet UHURU).

Folks;

This terse comment, by the government spokesman, is unnecessarily dismissive of the serious concerns that the EU envoys have shared with Ugandans.

These envoys are calling out the government, for having sat on specific recommendations for reforms that arose from the government's mismanagement of  the 2011 general elections.

My friend, Ofwono Opondo, having told off the diplomats, allows that no electoral laws have been cast in stones; that they are still subject to revision. If that's so, then why use such a strong language?

Besides, even during Uganda's days as a colony, not all nations represented in this story, supported British rule in Uganda, or any other colony. The envoys are just following up on an earlier discussion with the Electoral Commission. And if their concerns closely match those of the Opposition, now we know the Opposition is not an empty-tin after all.

Pojim

-“The root cause of the Rwandan tragedy of 1994 is the long and past historical ethnic dominance of one minority ethnic group to the other majority ethnic group. Ignoring this reality is giving a black cheque for the Rwandan people’s future and deepening resentment, hostility and hatred between the two groups.”
