Noble Marara's response to those who want to make donations "in his name".

Fellow Rwandans ,

After careful consideration and reflection ,I would like to  address the steady inflow of messages with regards those who  want to make donations "in my name" or as many of the messages I have seen put it, " for Noble Marara's sake ".

In consideration of the  confidence and faith I may inspire those who wish to contribute to  the struggle for freedom in our beloved Rwanda , I feel I must remind you , my fellow Rwandans , that Noble Marara cannot , should not and will not be held responsible  for what you give to a cause you presumably personally believe in !

At the risk of looking like I am not a team player , I feel it is my duty to  yet again highlight what I have previously stated : I believe that Kigali's apparent change of strategy should be met  with tactical retaliation .

I personally believe that the change we need cannot be driven by vexation or lust for powerful positions and would be appointments.

It should be driven by  an outcry for justice and equality .

It is  my personal  belief that we in the opposition should approach our people for  donations when we have mastered our motivations and established a clear way forward..

As we  continue  the struggle  to bring about change in our beloved country, may we  find it in ourselves to be principled and trustworthy particularly in these  difficult times of unsettling incertitude .

Noble Marara

-“The root cause of the Rwandan tragedy of 1994 is the long and past historical ethnic dominance of one minority ethnic group to the other majority ethnic group. Ignoring this reality is giving a black cheque for the Rwandan people’s future and deepening resentment, hostility and hatred between the two groups.”
