RWANDA: FDU-INKINGI IS NOT AT ALL INVOLVED IN FATHER THOMAS NAHIMANA'S "GOVERNMENT IN EXILE".

The Party FDU-Inkingi was stunned to learn from the media that the Ishema Party led by Thomas Nahimana has appointed in its government in exile, the FDU-Inkingi's President, Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, currently political prisoner in Rwanda.

The Party FDU-Inkingi would like to make it crystal clear to the public that: The suggestion that the FDU-Inkingi's President, Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, could be a member of the auto-proclaimed government in exile led by Thomas Nahimana is null and void as far as the Party FDU-Inkingi is concerned.

The leadership of the Party FDU-Inkingi, including its President, Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza has never been party to the idea of forming a government in exile. Indeed, as the world knows, the Party took a solemn decision to carry out its political struggle inside Rwanda at whatever cost.

The Party's President, the 1^st Vice-President and Secretary General are in Rwanda. Its President, Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, decided to leave the green pastures in Europe and take the party to Rwanda in 2010 when others, including some of those who are trying to go back to Rwanda were fleeing the country. The position has not changed.

The Party FDU-Inkingi had deliberately avoided getting involved in this latest political experiment after due consideration and resisted provocation from those claiming to be experts on the Rwandan political situation.

We request other political parties to show mutual respect and normal courtesy to our party and particularly the Party's President, Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, the icon of democracy and selflessness, by avoiding to drag her into this imbroglio political game.

RWANDA: LES FDU-INKINGI NE SONT PAS IMPLIQUÉES DANS LA FORMATION DU «GOUVERNEMENT EN EXIL» DE L'ABBE THOMAS NAHIMANA

FÉVRIER 20, 2017   

Les FDU-Inkingi, parti politique d'opposition, ont été stupéfaites d'apprendre par les médias que le Parti Ishema dirigé par Thomas Nahimana a nommé, dans son gouvernement en exil, la Présidente du parti Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, à son insu. Mme Victoire Ingabire est actuellement prisonnière politique au Rwanda.

Les FDU-Inkingi voudraient porter à la connaissance du public que: L'allégation que la Présidente des FDU-Inkingi, Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza pourrait être membre du gouvernement autoproclamé en exil, conduit par Thomas Nahimana, est nulle et non avenue dans la mesure où les FDU-Inkingi ne sont pas du tout concernées par cette démarche.

La direction du Parti, y compris sa Présidente, Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, n'a jamais partagé l'idée ni été impliquée dans la démarche de former un gouvernement en exil. En effet, comme tout le monde le sait, le Parti a pris la décision solennelle de mener sa lutte politique au Rwanda quel qu'en soit le prix. La présidente du parti, son  1^er vice-président et son 1^er secrétaire général sont au Rwanda.

La Présidente des FDU-Inkingi, Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, a décidé de quitter l'aisance et le confort en Europe pour aller faire la politique au Rwanda et se porter candidate aux élections présidentielles en 2010 lorsque d'autres, y compris certains qui essaient de retourner au Rwanda maintenant, fuyaient le pays. Sa position, qui est celle de son Parti, n'a pas  changé.

Les FDU-Inkingi avaient délibérément évité d'être entraînées dans la saga politique actuelle du Parti Ishema après due considération et avaient continué à résister à toute sorte de provocation de ceux  qui prétendaient être des experts de la situation politique rwandaise.

Nous demandons aux autres formations politiques de faire preuve de respect mutuel et de courtoisie réciproque envers notre Parti et en particulier envers sa Présidente, Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, icône de la démocratie et de l'altruisme, en évitant de l'entraîner dans ce jeu politique dont nous ne connaissons ni les tenants ni les aboutissants.

So exactly how true these Kayumba Nyamwasa rebel trainings in Kibaale District are, and whether they will lead to further unrest is difficult to tell.

But with its troubled past, the role of President Museveni in Rwandan politics (it is widely said Museveni played a big role in the October 1990 RPF invasion of Rwanda and Kagame joined his NRA bush war on day one) should not be underestimated.
