Breaking: Three senior Journalists flee Rwanda

Kigali, Rwanda-Umusingi news paper editor, Stanley Gatera who was arrested recently and after one night in custody was set free, now available information indicate that Gatera has managed he has fled the country on concerns of his safety.

Ever since his release on Thursday 17 April 2014, his whereabouts remained unknown. His phone has been off. His communication has been facebook only. On 16, Gatera was arrested for allegedly corruption. Though, Gatera had raised his safety concerns after Aljazeera network airing and interview featuring Gatera and President Kagame.

Eric Nduwayo, the publisher of Isimbi newspaper is reported to have fled to France but he is still in the way since 01 April 2014. According to security sources, the journalists have declared themselves as refugees to the neighboring countries.

John Williams Ntwali, the publisher of www.ireme.net has also disappeared in a thin air. Sources claim Ntwali has officially fled the country claiming his safety. Ntwali had claimed that his website have been taken over by unknown people who post under his name.

Rwanda Media Commission chair, Fred Muvunyi has told this news website that his institution has information those four editors have fled the country.

The four journalists have fled following air of uncertainty in independent media.
